We are proud to announce that as of September 24^th that we have expanded the basketball training aid and accessories that we offer to 14 hand picked premium products. We wanted to really drive home how much better tempered glass backboards are than traditional residential acrylic backboards so we decided to conduct an experiment.  We took a 1/2 acrylic, 3/8 inch glass and 1/2 glass backboard and dropped a basketball on them to test responsiveness.  For a full description of the experiment, click here.  The 1/2 inch glass backboard emerged as the winner with 69% response.  1/2 acrylic was the clear looser with a poor showing of 38% response.  A graph showing the results is to the right.  We did not test a 3/8 inch acrylic backboard as we do not consider systems with these boards to be premium ie. Wilson Basketball Goals).  Below is a list of the Hoops systems that have full 1/2 inch thick backboards.

Note:  The Pro Dunk Gold’s 60 inch 1/2 inch thick backboard is one of a kind.  You will not find this quality of backboard anywhere else.  Other manufactures use much thinner backboards at this size.

It has been a little over a month since announcing the development of 1/2 inch glass backboards and they are already here 1 month ahead of schedule.  We will be offering the thicker glass backboards on the Pro Dunk® Diamond, Platinum and Gold basketball systems.  The Pro Dunk Gold’s new backboard is unique being the only sub 72 inch backboard on the market with 1/2 glass.  The upgrade from 3/8 inch will increase performance with a more solid rebound off of the glass and by added more mass to the system as a whole.  Check the product pages for details on pricing and availability.
