Shipping Section

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

We have put together some information on the shipping process since most people have never used freight shipping before.

Since our basketball goals are so large and heavy, they cannot be shipped via common carrier such as UPS or FedEx.  They must be shipped via freight.  We use R+L Carriers to ship our systems because they specialize in residential delivery and have lift-gates on the back of every truck to ease the unloading process.

This shipping page will outline the shipping process and give you useful information such as estimated delivery time and how to track your shipment.

We hope this page will answer a lot of questions and prepare customers for the shipping process.  You can view this page here.

Extension Arm Systems and Rigidity

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

After several portables from the local store have failed you want something with a little stability.  For this customer we have created a demonstration on how rigid our backboards are compared to others.

First it shows customers where most bank shots come in contact with the backboard.  The most shots are taken in and around the shooter’s square.  This is demonstrated with a heat map of the backboard.

Next we show the Pro Dunk system where support is given to this area and another system where the extension arms are mounted to the edges of the backboard.  When shooting at the Pro Dunk system superior rebounding response is shown in contrast to the unsupported backboard.

To view this demonstration visit the Pro Dunk Platinum or the Pro Dunk Diamond detail pages and scroll down to the Media section.

Aesthetic Comparison Added

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

Since premium basketball goals are a relatively permanent fixture and visible to everybody that drives by we understand that customers are concerned about the aesthetics of their hoop.

Here at Hoops we think that our Pro Dunk systems are as elegant as them come and will not become an eyesore over time.  To demonstrate our point we have put together and aesthetic comparison between our systems and some competitors.

Firstly, many manufactures claim that arm systems that attach at the backboard’s edges are aesthetically more pleasing because there is a lack of backboard bracing cluttering up the clear backboard.  The diagram we have created will show that even though the bracing attaches to the sides that it still obstructs the backboard.  At lower heights it is more bothersome than the Pro Dunk bracing.

Secondly, pole height dictates the proportions of the hoop.  The Pro Dunk systems have a shorter pole than most other systems.  This obviously makes the system look smaller sitting on your driveway which can be a concern if you are cramped for space on your driveway or just don’t want the hoop to stick out.  It also looks much less awkward at lower heights since the arms do not have to be at extreme angles.

Lastly, since Hoops uses stainless steel fasteners, you will not have to worry about ugly rust streaks years down the road.  Other systems use regular steel bolts, nuts and washers which are prone to rusting.

You can view these diagrams on any Pro Dunk detail page in the Media section.

We have been getting great testimonials from all over the country so we decided to put them up for everybody else to see too! You can view the current testimonials here. We have been asking customers to take pictures of their new basketball goals so users like you can see what they look like installed at house just like yours.

If you have a Pro Dunk hoop installed and would like to write a testimonial about your experience so far we’d love to hear from you.  If you send us a photo of your goal with a player in the picture we’ll send you a Hoops Inc. T-Shirt!  For more details visit the testimonial submission page.
